Using a neurodevelopmental and relational lens, participants will strengthen their ability to prevent escalation and respond with empathy, structure, and confidence. This course helps improve staff self-regulation and consistency across teams, supporting both student regulation and staff well-being.
Practice Empathy: Look at what is contributing to challenging behaviors through the child's lens. Learn to recognize signals and de-escalate early to avoid a crisis.
Engage in Self-Reflection: Evaluate how personal responses reinforce positive or negative behaviors - even inadvertently.
Practice a Relationship-Based Approach: Learn responses that utilize trauma-informed care principles and strategies when addressing challenging behavior.
Prioritize Self-Care: Recognize the emotional and physical toll of responding to daily challenges. Know one's limits and value the importance of self-care.
Value Teamwork: Enhance communication and collaboration among staff to create a consistent and unified approach to behavior management.
