Adult children and parents living together can reactivate unresolved family dynamics and develop dependency issues, conflict, or emotional injury. Help families learn to engage in new adult-to-adult interactions, begin to repair old wounds, and create healthier family patterns.
Identify common relational and emotional challenges when adult children and parents live together, i.e. regression, dependency, unresolved conflict, and reactivation of earlier wounds.
Differentiate between expected adjustments in roles, boundaries, and expectations and patterns that indicate clinically significant relational distress.
Help clients navigate current interactions when previous family dynamics, trauma reminders, and unresolved parent-child experiences surface.
Apply strategies to establish healthier patterns of interdependence, boundaries, communication, and meaningful connection.
Intended for Psychologists, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Workers, Family Attorneys & Mediators, Clergy, Graduate Students and others who support individual and family well-being.
Open to Adult Family Members!
