Course Objectives

Learn how to integrate core DBT strategies into everyday clinical practice—using them as flexible, universal life skills to support emotional balance, distress tolerance, and stronger relationships for clients across diagnoses.

About the Presenter

Emily Koppenhofer, MA, MS.Ed, LPC

DBT Practitioner

Emily Koppenhofer, MA, MS. Ed, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Coordinator of Survivor Services at the Joseph J. Peters Institute in Philadelphia, where she supervises clinicians and provides trauma-informed therapy and evidence-based practices to survivors of trauma. She is the owner of K & K Holistic Counseling, a private practice specializing in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed somatic strategies, and grief and loss treatment. Emily holds master’s degrees in Education and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and in Criminal Justice from Widener University. With extensive experience in community mental health, corrections, and private practice, Emily utilizes DBT skills to support clients in meeting their goals around emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. She received DBT informed training in 2020 and has been practicing this approach in both the group and individual settings ever since. She is passionate about teaching, implementing, and maintaining DBT skills personally and professionally and is a strong believer in the effectiveness of this modality.
